General Terms and Conditions of Ribera Studios Valencia, S.L., Calle de la Dársena 27, Vara de Quart, 46014 Valencia (the "Provider"). Last updated: 1 July 2026.
Clause 1 – Scope
These Terms apply to all stage hire, equipment and grip hire, crew supply, production and post-production services agreed between the Provider and its clients, whether consumers or businesses. Any conflicting terms of the client shall have no effect unless expressly accepted by the Provider in writing.
Clause 2 – Conclusion of contract
Published rates and the online quote are indicative. By submitting the form the client makes an enquiry. The contract is concluded upon the Provider's written confirmation, once availability of the stage, equipment and crew has been checked. Dates are held firm only once the deposit under Clause 4 has been received.
Clause 3 – Prices
All prices are in euros and include Spanish VAT at the applicable rate of 21%. A day is 10 consecutive hours; a half day is 5 hours charged at 60% of the day rate. Equipment is charged per full day, including on half-day bookings. A 10% discount applies to stage hire from 4 days and 18% from 8 days; it does not apply to equipment, crew or fixed-price services.
Clause 4 – Payment
A deposit of 40% is due on confirmation, a second instalment of 30% eight days before the first shoot day, and the balance within 30 days of completion. Accepted payment methods: credit card, Visa, Mastercard and bank transfer; approved business clients may pay on invoice within 30 days. Late payment incurs the default interest set out in Law 3/2004 on combating late payment in commercial transactions, together with the €40 recovery cost indemnity under Article 8 of that Law.
Clause 5 – Duration, overruns and overtime
Any hour started beyond the booked window is charged pro rata of the stage day rate, with a 25% uplift on crew in line with the collective agreement. The stage must be returned clear of sets and waste at the end of the window; otherwise removal and making good are charged at cost. Where the rain rig has been used, the last half hour of the booked window is reserved for drying and clearing the floor.
Clause 6 – Crew
Crew supplied are employed and registered by the Provider under the Spanish national collective agreement for the audiovisual production industry; the client does not at any point become their employer and assumes no social security obligations in their respect. The client retains creative direction while the Provider is responsible for technical direction and compliance with occupational risk prevention rules. If a crew member becomes unavailable at short notice, the Provider will offer an equivalently qualified replacement or, failing that, will not charge for that role.
Clause 7 – Equipment and security
Equipment is supplied in good working order and checked jointly on collection and return. The client is responsible for it throughout the hire and is liable for damage, loss and theft at full replacement value, save for normal wear. The site is guarded 24 hours a day, which does not relieve the client of responsibility for its own equipment and effects left on the premises. Equipment may not leave the site without written agreement and evidence of insurance covering equipment in the client's care. Sub-hire is prohibited.
Clause 8 – Vehicles on the drive-in stage
Vehicles are admitted only where the make, model and kerb weight have been notified in advance and fall within the floor's load rating. Running an engine inside the building requires prior written agreement and the use of extraction. Fuel tanks shall be kept to the minimum practicable level and the Provider may require battery disconnection outside filming. The client warrants that each vehicle is insured and lawfully in its possession, and remains liable for any damage caused to the floor, walls or installations by a vehicle it brings on site.
Clause 9 – Water and rain sequences
The rain rig may only be operated by the Provider's special effects technician, whose engagement is compulsory for any booking involving the rig and is charged separately. The client shall notify in advance any electrical equipment intended for use near the rig, which is subject to the Provider's safety inspection and may be refused. Talent must be given access to the heated changing facilities provided. The client is responsible for the suitability of costumes, props and set dressing for wet conditions, and the Provider accepts no liability for damage to items brought on set that are not water resistant.
Clause 10 – Safety, insurance and client obligations
Before the first shoot day the client shall provide a valid public liability insurance certificate and a named list of attendees. The client shall comply with the house rules: no smoking or vaping; naked flames, atmospheric haze, prop weapons and animals subject to prior written agreement; observance of maximum occupancy and of rigging load limits. The Provider may require a fire safety officer to be present for certain sequences, at the client's cost.
Clause 11 – Filming permits
Where the client books the scouting and permits service, the Provider will file the applications with the Ajuntament de València, the Valencia Film Office and any other competent authority. This is an obligation of means: granting the authorisation rests solely with the authority, and a refusal gives rise to no liability or right to compensation against the Provider.
Clause 12 – Intellectual property and image rights
Where the client shoots with its own crew, the client is the sole owner of the rights in the material; hiring a stage confers no rights on the Provider. Where the Provider's authors or crew are engaged, they retain their moral right, which is inalienable and non-transferable under Article 14 of the Spanish Intellectual Property Act, and assign the client the economic rights (reproduction, distribution and communication to the public) in the delivered material for 5 years, worldwide, for web, social media, trade shows and printed commercial materials, with the specification of media, term and territory required by Article 43 of that Act. Broadcast, paid media campaigns and theatrical exhibition are subject to a separately quoted additional assignment. The client warrants that it holds authorisations from identifiable people under Organic Act 1/1982 and the rights to any works, sets, music and trade marks appearing on camera, and shall hold the Provider harmless against any claim in that respect.
Clause 13 – Cancellation and rescheduling
Stage: free cancellation up to 14 calendar days before the first shoot day; between 14 and 7 days, 30% of the stage fee remains payable; between 7 days and 72 hours, 50%; under 72 hours or in the event of a no-show, the full fee is due. Crew: free cancellation up to 7 days before; thereafter 50% of the relevant role remains payable. Equipment: free cancellation up to 72 hours before. One free reschedule is granted, within 12 months, if requested at least 14 days in advance. Where the Provider cancels, all sums paid are refunded within 14 days, with no further compensation.
Clause 14 – Liability
The Provider is liable without limitation in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and for personal injury. In cases of slight negligence, liability is limited to breaches of essential contractual obligations and capped at the total amount invoiced for the service. The Provider is not liable for schedule overruns attributable to the client, for loss of data on the client's recording media, or for personal effects left unattended. The client is responsible for backing up its material before leaving the site.
Clause 15 – Force majeure
Neither party is liable for a failure caused by unforeseeable circumstances or force majeure within the meaning of Article 1105 of the Spanish Civil Code (including prolonged power or water supply failure, fire, flood or an administrative closure order). In such cases sums paid are refunded or alternative dates are offered, at the client's choice.
Clause 16 – Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. For consumers, the courts of the consumer's domicile have jurisdiction; for business-to-business relations, the parties submit to the courts of Valencia, waiving any other jurisdiction. Consumers may apply to the Consumer Arbitration Board of the Valencian Community or to the European online dispute resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. The invalidity of any clause shall not affect the validity of the remainder.
